1. The Attention of the District Educational Ofcers & Ex-ofcio Project Coordinators and Additional Project Coordinators of Samagra Shiksha and Principals of DIET in the state are invited to the reference cited and informed that NISHTHA secondary online teacher training on DIKSHA will be commenced from 01-08-2021.

2. Further, it is informed that the NCERT has scheduled the NISHTHA Secondary online training from 1stAugust, 2021 to 28th February, 2022. 

3. This training is meant for all the teachers who are teaching from classes 9th to 12th and heads of institutions. This training is mandatory for all the said teachers of all managements.

4. In this regard, it is informed that all the teachers have to download the DIKSHA app from the google play store and has to register with their mobile number, after getting registered in the app teachers have to fll their institution details like UDISE, treasury ID and mail ID.

5. In view of the above all the District Educational Ofcers & Ex-ofcio.Project Coordinators in the state are requested to select (2) active school assistants for each subject i.e.Telugu, Hindi, English, Urdu, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Biological Science, Physical Sciences and Social Studies) to act as KRP who are good at English, technology and presentation skills.

The selected KRP list may be sent to email :teachertrainingssap@gmail.com.

6. In this connection, the District Educational Ofcers & Ex-ofcio Project Coordinators, Additional project Coordinators of Samagra Shiksha and Principals of DIET are instructed to disseminate the information and take all necessary steps for 100% participation of teachers.

7. This may be treated as priority item of work.

NISHTHA: National Initiative for School Heads’ and teachers’ Holistic Advancement

NISHTHA is a holistic and integrated programme under Samagra Shiksha - a flagship programme of MoE, Govt of India. 

The modules developed under NISHTHA focus on holistic development of children and hence include curriculum and inclusive education health and well-being, personal social qualities, art integrated learning, initiatives in school education, subject-specific pedagogies, integration of ICT in teaching-learning, leadership, pre-school education, pre-vocational education, POCSO, COVID-19 responsible behaviour etc.

All the modules are centred around learning outcomes and, learner-centred pedagogy etc. NISHTHA integrated training covers all the recommended areas of NEP 2020 and aims at holistic development of teachers and school heads in a time bound maner.

The NISHTHA integrated training modules are made interactive with reflective and 

engaging activities for teachers providing space to educational games, quizzes, etc. for ensuring joyful learning by the teachers and school heads, which in turn will motivate teachers to implement this in their respective classrooms for enhancing students’ learning outcomes. 


The following are the expected outcomes from NISHTHA are:


1. Improvement in learning outcomes of the students.

2. Creation of an enabling and enriching inclusive classroom environment.

3. Teachers become alert and responsive to the social, emotional and psychological needs of students as first level counselors.

4. Teachers are trained to use Art as pedagogy leading to increased creativity and innovation among students.

5. Teachers are trained to develop and strengthen personal-social qualities of students for their holistic development.

6. Creation of a healthy and safe school environment.

7. Integration of ICT in teaching, learning and assessment.

8. Developing stress free School Based Assessment focused on development of learning competencies.

9. Teachers adopt Activity Based Learning and move away from rote learning to competency based learning.

10. Teachers and School heads become aware of new initiatives in school education.

11. Transformation of the Heads of Schools into providing academic and administrative leadership for the schools for fostering new initiatives.

The NISHTHA programme was implemented for teachers and school heads at elementary education level (classes 1 to 8) during 2019-21 Now with implementation of the vision of NEP-2020, it is being extended from foundational to secondary level during the year 2021-22.
